Dawson's Ragged Branch Reserve
Ragged Branch is nestled in the foothills of the Ragged Mountains near Charlottesville, Virginia. As a farm-to-bottle distillery, they grow, harvest, and mill rye and corn to craft their homegrown bourbon recipe. They distill, age, and bottle their bourbon on site, and feed the residual mash to their cattle. Matt Cross, Nicholas Cipriano and Joe Cipriano of Dawson's Liquors visited their distillery in January to hand select the first Barrel Program of 2021. After tasting through an assortment of barrels and recipes, we chose Barrel #1664. This bourbon was put into its original barrel on 2/15/16 and then Double Oaked on 2/19/20.
